Generate and evaluate the larger 30-tile Catan board

This Catan expansion board generator builds the 30-terrain-hex island used for five-player and six-player games. It keeps the larger setup manageable by combining tile and number shuffling, harbor controls, saved map codes and the same strategic analytics available for Classic boards.

How to use this board

  1. 1. Make a board

Choose 3–4 or 5–6 players. Use Options for your house rules, then Shuffle for a new layout.

  2. 2. Explore your starting spots

Choose Analyze this board to compare settlement spots, resource coverage, and opening pairs.

  3. 3. Bring it to the table

Each generated board gets a map code. Share its link to reopen the same layout, or use Save image to download a PNG.

Five-player and six-player setup

Use one generated island for either player count, then apply the turn and building rules your group follows for the 5–6 player expansion. The full 30-tile layout is displayed at once so it can be reproduced around the table.

Harbor distribution and sharing

The larger coastline uses 11 harbors. You can retain the expected distribution or shuffle harbor positions, then save the complete expansion map as a code that restores tiles, numbers and ports for every player.

Expansion balance calculation

Generation settings control difficult adjacencies such as neighboring 6 and 8 tokens. Analytics then measure production and resource coverage across the larger island instead of assuming that a Classic-board ranking still applies.

Settlement and opening analytics

Choose Analyze this board for intersection scores, opening-pair recommendations, city and road rankings, harbor synergy, scarcity notes and separate seat plans for five-player and six-player drafts.
