Classic setup guide
This Catan map generator creates the familiar 19-tile island for three or four players. Shuffle a new layout, adjust the setup rules, and reveal the resource letters only when everyone is ready to build the physical board.
Choose 3–4 or 5–6 players. Use Options for your house rules, then Shuffle for a new layout.

The generator shuffles terrain and number tokens while respecting the options you select, including whether high-probability 6 and 8 tokens may touch. These controls let your group choose its setup rules without forcing every game into the same pattern.
Keep the standard harbor order or shuffle the ports for a different trading puzzle. Each generated board receives a compact map code that restores the tile, number and port configuration, making a random Catan board easy to share or replay.
